RICHARD STRAUSS: ELEKTRA OP. 58 (LIVE RECORDING, GENEVA 1990
Following the disc featuring Pelléas (1969) with Eric Tappy, Gérard Souzay, Jean-Marie Auberson and the OSR released last year (CD 50-2415/16), Claves is pleased to continue its lyric adventure by bringing this extraordinary performance (which is said to have had the longest standing ovation in the history of the establishment) back to life on compact disc with the original recording made by Radio Suisse Romande.
The double CD is accompanied by extensive documentation taken from the archives and with an introduction by Alain Perroux, who passionately remembers this event.
