Regardless of the individual differences between the four composers united on this recording, they are also related not only geographically speaking (all were born in Bohemia) but they also employ the same musical « fabric » in their compositions: their melodies live and breathe Eastern folk music and the influence of dance is omnipresent in their rhythms, both in the details and in the whole.
