Antonin Dvorak’s New World Symphony combines his sympathy and curiosity for the American continent and its peoples with his own nationalistic musical heritage. Bedrich Smetana’s symphonic poem The Moldau is filled with programmatic turns which illustrate episodes from Bohemian life and legends.
